Evan Longoria Bobblehead


This Evan Longoria bobble head was the prize given out at a weekly sports radio podcast on campus at CSULB at the Nugget restaurant every Tuesday.

The lucky winner was Matthew Montes.


Evan Longoria was a superstar third-baseman for the Dirtbags back in 2005 & 2006, playing alongside future big league stars Troy Tulowitzki, Jared Weaver, and Cesar Ramos.

Longoria was drafted third overall by the Tampa Bay Rays, and became the Rays starting third-baseman in 2008. Evan went on to earn the American League Rookie of the Year award.

49ers fall short against the Trojans


Despite goalie Derek Wiebe-Bailey's game high 13 saves, it was not enough for CSULB men's water polo as they were defeated by the No.1 ranked USC Trojans 9-4 on Saturday afternoon.

The 49ers managed to make their second match up against the Trojans respectable, as opposed to their first meeting earlier this season when Long Beach was crushed by USC 12-3.

CSULB Golf finishes in 12th place at The Prestige in PGA West

CSULB men's golf team finished in a respectable 12th place at The Prestige at PGA West in La Quinta, California.
After three days of competition, Freshmen Phillip Chian and Raymond Ho, and sophomore Kevin Roy finished tied for 57th place overall after shooting 14-over par with a score of 230.
The 49ers will be in action on October 22-23 for the 14th annual Del Walker Intecollegiate Golf Classic at Virginia Country Club in Long Beach.

Men's water polo: CSULB 7 Pepperdine 8


The Long Beach State men's water polo team traveled to Malibu on Saturday to take on no.8 ranked Pepperdine.
The 49ers fell 8-7 despite putting up a late rally.

Men's golf look to compete for Big-West crown

The CSULB men's golf team are hoping to make a run at this year's Big West title after last season's fifth-place finish.
The 49ers are led by sophomore Kevin Lim, who was last season's freshman of the year for the Big West conference.
There are four newcomers to the squad that head coach Bill Poutre recruited to help boost Long Beach into serious contenders this season.
